Gibbs takes over and introduces he and Fornell to the family.

The woman knows immediately that they found her husband and she asks if it was an accident because he was a building inspector. Gibbs says the COD is still undetermined, but the woman says that Bright would have never abandoned his family, which also consists of a younger son. As they walk away, Fornell reveals that he froze because the wife is a dead ringer for the victims. Gibbs and Fornell chat about how serial killers blend in to regular society.

The team is searching the yard near the house. Sacks finds bone fragments, but Tony finds a skull. The high school where the workers found the body was on the list. Ziva pulls up photos of the serial killer victims and says he achieved 14 kills between and his death, presumably in early At the Bright house, Ducky is looking at a skeleton. He pronounces it female but declines to opine on TOD given the lack of tissue.

And, well, the mistake from last time. For some reason he re tells a story about a warrant being issued for his arrest after he shoved a French policeman off a cliff. Granted there was a lake below. Ducky says Shepard was the one who stole the sailboat. Inside the Bright house, Gibbs is interviewing Mrs. She says Bright worked at all the military bases. She tells Gibbs he has her husband confused with some monster. The daughter is upset too. She says the last time she saw her husband was when he was headed to Little Creek.

Bright swears she will never believe her husband was a serial killer. At autopsy, Ducky and Palmer discuss serial killers and how they come to be. Ducky remembers mid-conversation that he left his bag in the van and asks Palmer to get it before he leaves for the night.

The scene shifts to Palmer exiting the elevator into the garage. He opens the door of the van and then hears the elevator ding. He turns around and Agent Lee is there unbuttoning her sweater. And then a shot of the van shaking.

Ducky tells Gibbs that today brought back a lot of memories. Gibbs wants to know what he did wrong. And then says it again. And he apologizes and says he should have told Ducky about Shanon and Kelly. And all is right in the NCIS world.

Jeanne Benoit is asleep on the couch at her apartment, and she does not hear Tony knocking at the door. They compare their respective days to movies. Then they make out, and they really are a sweet couple. The next day, Tony is whistling while he works, which is TV shorthand for getting laid the night before.

Ziva interrogates him and determines that he had sex. But before she can pry anything out of him, Fornell arrives. Shepard sweetly responds that her team made more progress in three days than the FBI made in that 12 years.

Gibbs is uncharacteristically passive but simply says he wants to show Fornell something before handing the case over. But, give Fornell credit. This must be good because Shepard joins the agents in autopsy. Ducky pulls Chimney Clog out of his freezer box. Ducky has COD. Fornell climbs up to look at the body with magnifying glass.

Ducky points out that the smoking of the body shrunk them down, but there are significant abdominal wounds on the body from either an icepick or a screwdriver. It was romantic, sweet, innocent, touching, happy, and made me break out in a huge smile. This scene had such a genuine feel to it that I believe it was the most enjoyable scene I've viewed on TV in quite a while. Does anybody know who was singing "Falling in Love" in that scene?

The music was a part of what made the scene so perfect. I would love to have this recording. Hope you enjoy this episode as much as I have. Cathy in Fort Worth, TX. MoselyJ3 Jul 1, Details Edit. See the full list. Interesting how it was Fornell who froze completely when the dead man's wife opened the front door, because she looked so like the victims, and it was Gibbs who took over.

But I guess when you've been tracking a guy you think is a serial killer and cannibal, things are going to affect you more. So actually a very nice and realistic touch. I loved this exchange between Fornell and Gibbs: Fornell: 'I'm familiar with stick, charming bastards. Good as one 'What've you got' when they come back into the squad room, aimed at their respective agents.

Interesting little scene in Jenny's office. Her comment about who had Tobias slept with to get the orders changed so that the FBI got the body, was an interesting one - would she know about doing things like that? Obviously Gibbs had something up his sleeve, because he was so relaxed about it all. And the final scene with them both at Gibbs's desk, was quite fitting for the case.

And Gibbs was correct, he did top Tobias's 'You know what freaks me out, if her husband's body hadn't gotten caught up in the chimney, she'd have gone on killing. And was a very good end to a powerful and quite creepy episode.

McGee was clearly jealous of Marty, even though he doesn't know who Marty is. Come on Abby and McGee, get back together. Nice to see Marty again. I liked Abby's comment about how she'd kill for half of the stuff in his lab and he wanted to know what she'd do for all of it!

And the look on her face when she saw the lab, child in sweetshop time. Rule never bother Gibbs in the interrogation room. Gibbs head slapping DiNozzo again.

Nice little scene with Jimmy and Ducky after the 'Mallard Inn' comment when Jimmy was asking what made people do that kind of thing and Ducky at first talks about brain tumours, etc.

And then remembering that he'd forgotten his bag and asking Jimmy to fetch it for him before he goes home. Did Ducky have his suspicions? Is he 'helping' the romance along? Or did he just want to get Jimmy out of the way so that he could go and have his make up talk with Gibbs? Overall For me this is the best episode thus far. It had a jolly good case that really had some impact; it had some good team interaction, some nice touches of humour, lots of Ducky, nice Abby scenes, Jimmy scenes, lovely to see Tobias.

More on going intrigue with DiNozzo and his girl friend and some interesting touches of jealousy. I'm tempted to give this top marks for story line which covers both the case and the non-case and enjoyment, but if I do that, where else have I to go if there is something better? So at the moment, I think I'll hold off quite that high, but might well upgrade one or both parts after viewing it for a second time.

I thought the McGee and his book bits were getting overplayed a tad, so that would take the odd percentage off the enjoyment marks.
