Stephanie is the type of woman who does not put herself out there in the fear of rejection or the worst happening.
That's why her bosses at the Los Angeles job recruitment firm where she works are interviewing for the open vice-president position, which she thought was hers. That's why she didn't fight for the relationship with her ex-boyfriend Matt, who has just announced his engagement to someone else.
And that's why she tells the show's head producer Donna that she wouldn't be right to appear on The Only, a reality dating show where her friend Lisa, who works for Donna, signed her up to be in the running as the "bachelorette" for this upcoming season. It is largely because Stephanie doesn't believe in the fairy-tale of finding love on such a show that Donna offers her the role for this season. Lisa is able to convince Stephanie to take the role if only for remote possibility of love - which can only happen if Stephanie opens herself up to the possibility - and to have a two week vacation, this season which is to be shot at Aurora, a resort ranch in Wyoming, Stephanie who is a country girl at heart.
It isn't until she arrives at the ranch that she meets this season's bachelor, Oliver, with who there is at least an immediate physical attraction. What makes the situation worse is that their scheduled dates will include not only Donna, Lisa and the rolling camera, but a guide in the form of Alex, the ranch owner's son with who she had an initial antagonistic encounter if only because of their assumptions of the other solely on being a city girl and a country boy.
While Stephanie has difficulties in truly opening herself up, she seems to be able to see romance in and for others in this situation, while she cannot be able to see that someone may be falling in love with her.
Who can see what is happening is Donna, who, as a producer with some acumen, may shift the nature of the season to make for good television. Add content advisory. Did you know Edit. User reviews 17 Review. Top review. A Delightful Romance. What a refreshing film this is! It combines the modern day concept of TV show "dating".. The leading actress, Pascale Hutton, played with her usual maturity and grace, is presented as an intelligent, striving employee of her firm, hoping to be considered for a significant promotion.
She is sensible, cautious, and mature While she is reluctant to enter the TV dating show, she moves forward with skepticism and wisdom.
The man who is presented to her as her bachelor "match" could not be a more inappropriate a partner for her. They are as opposite as any two people could be, but they strive to make the show's premise work.. Sign In. Comedy Romance. Director Sheldon Larry. Chad Hodge. Top credits Director Sheldon Larry. Sexy Ryan Banks becomes a Hollywood star overnight when he's asked to act at a party and convinces his best friend Todd Doherty to become his exclusive manager.
When his career goes down hill after a failed movie, the firms boss gives Todd three months to turn the tide. Todd gets a TV station to stage a six weeks reality dating show to pick -with input from the viewers- bachelor Ryan's bride from 15 preselected candidates -all handpicked to improve Ryan's image- who cohabit with him in a fairy-tale mansion.
Charlie Norton from Boston was entered by her sister and only accepts at Ryan's personal insistence, and soon proves both his and the audience's favorite. The takes for the show are a surreal experience; Todd constantly coaches Ryan trough a miniature earpiece. However Charlie spontaneously feels for Todd and finds out he's the one who thinks up all Ryan's good answers; he is torn between his professional loyalty and personal emotions, so she decides to repulse Ryan on the show, but that gets edited so the audience won't notice.
She makes the final, refuses to stay on the show, and gets Todd not really 'fired' when Ryan learns the truth- he finally points out his entire life has been sidelined for Ryans career; the studio threatens to sue Charlie for contract-breach. In the final Ryan still chooses Charlie on air over a fellow Thespian, or rather Rated PG for some sexual references. Did you know Edit.
